The Genius Reborn: Creator or Destroyer

FantasyComplete762 chapters

They storm a private army's hideout and find every corpse inside it pierced by its own bones. That is how the hunt for Sam ends. He was an orphan from the streets of India who hacked, built and fought his way into history. Scientist, doctor, musician, painter, hacker, inventor, super soldier. He fixed what the powerful broke, and when those same powerful men tortured the only person who ever loved him until she took her own life, he pressed a single button and erased their consortium, the secret government of the whole earth, from the map. A stray gunshot finished what the great families could not.

Death was not the end of him. A supreme being called Ling Tian plucked his soul from the corpse and offered him a bargain: a new world, a new body, and cultivation techniques built for him alone. The price was one promise. Climb to the highest peak where he can look down on everyone under the heavens, and the two of them will meet again.

Sam wakes in a forest soaked with spiritual energy, in a world of cultivators and Artisans, of inscription masters, formation masters, beast tamers and warring empires. He has no family, no faction, no money, and no intention of starting small. Armed with a dead world's science and a living world's cultivation, he starts to build. Weapons that shame imperial forges. Enterprises that bend whole markets. A personal divine dimension that grows into a world of its own, and contracts with primordial beasts whose bloodlines make veteran tamers go pale and proud beasts kneel on command.

But every creation of his casts a shadow. Each product he invents rewrites the balance of power, and each new balance drags in enemies: nobles who run prostitution and poison behind respectable walls, sects that burn islands to make a point, temples and beast factions that treat their own candidates as pieces on a board. Sam answers them the way he answered the consortium. He digs up their secrets, out-engineers their armies, dismantles their alliances piece by piece, and when peace stops being an option, he reminds the world why his last title on Earth was the greatest destroyer.

The higher he climbs, the bigger the board becomes. Realms stack upon realms. Planets hide behind wormholes. Nagas, elves, sirens and sea folks fight their old wars over pride and hunting grounds, and every one of them wants the weapons only he can make. Above it all, Ling Tian is still watching, waiting to see whether the man he sent down will ascend as a creator or burn out as a destroyer.

For Sam that question has never been abstract. He has been both. He has lifted cities out of poverty and razed fortresses to the ground. He has healed the sick and hollowed out empires. This time, with a second life in his hands and a storm of hatred finally given room to breathe, he means to find out which of the two he really is. Whatever he chooses to build, he can also unmake, and everyone from street thieves to realm emperors is about to learn what that means.
