Hannah's Journey
by PageCrave Editorial
Hannah Field has spent eighteen years paying for a tragedy she can barely remember. Her mother died shielding her from a rogue attack, and the Blood Longman pack decided the orphaned girl owed both graves a debt — paid in bruises and chores, while her sister Piper sharpened the cruelty and her twin brother Austin learned to look away.
On her eighteenth birthday, everything arrives at once. Her wolf finally wakes. The mate bond snaps into place with the last wolf alive she ever wanted: Elliot Longman, the Alpha's son who has tormented her for years. And in front of the whole cafeteria, he rejects her — too weak, too ugly, never fit to be Luna. So Hannah does the one thing no rejected she-wolf is supposed to do. She accepts the rejection with her chin up, leaves a goodbye note on her bed, and walks into the dark with one bag and nothing else.
She doesn't get far. Half-starved and running on rage, she collapses onto White Crescent land and straight into the path of Alpha Carlos Thomas, a widower feared across the region for what he does to rogues. Instead of a grave, Hannah finds a guest room, a credit card, and the first morning of her life that doesn't hurt. In Carlos she finds something rarer: a man who was broken the same way she was, and who means it when he says no one will ever touch her again.
But Hannah was never going to be an ordinary wolf. Her first shift brands her as the chosen one of prophecy, and the Moon Goddess herself starts visiting her dreams — warning of hunters who want to bleed her dry and rule the supernatural world, and leaving gifts in her hands. A wall no bullet can pass. A grip that hurls grown wolves. A fire nobody saw coming.
Then Hannah finds a dead woman in the woods and a five-month-old baby alive beside her. The mother's note says the hunters did this, and that the child is special. Hannah keeps her, names her Ivan, and never guesses the girl will grow up half witch — or that the Vampire Queen Trisha has spent fifteen years in the dark places, waiting to drink that blood and become unstoppable.
The wars come anyway. Hunters first, with a traitor wearing a mate's face. Then something older. Hannah loses her sister to her own pride, gains a brother's apology in blood, raises a son, and holds her family together through everything the supernatural world throws at it. Ten years on, with newborn Cira asleep on her chest and her eldest coming of age, the goddess returns with the truth: the queen they all thought dead is alive, and she is coming for Hannah's daughters at the turn of the moon.
One mother. One pack that chose her. A frozen trail north to the old hunter compound, and a sunrise that will answer everything.
This is the story of the girl who ran from a house where she was nobody — and clawed her way into everything.
In our reading guide: The pack threw away the wrong wolf. Now the pack pays.
