The Dancer and His Alpha

WerewolfComplete30 chapters

Loren Hill came to Minnesota to survive one school year. A ballet dancer from Italy does not fit easily into a small town parked at the edge of a dark northern forest, and a boy named Loren, small and blue-eyed with a face his own mother calls delicate, expects even less. His plan is simple: keep his head down, keep his pointe shoes close, and give the locals nothing to talk about.

The plan lasts exactly one class period.

Hunter Lupus has five months to find his mate before he can take his father's place as Alpha of his pack. He has never once been drawn to a woman, and it wouldn't trouble him at all if his mate turned out to be a man. What he never planned for is the small new boy with the dancer's spine who sits down by the window and smells, impossibly, like home.

One word - mate - and both their lives are off every map they had.

Loren isn't looking for a boyfriend, a secret world, or a destiny. He is looking for a dance studio and a way to get through being the new kid. What he gets is a golden boy football captain who opens doors and carries grocery bags like a courtship ritual; a first friend named Emily who declares the two of them fate within a week; a robot-baby school project that turns out to be a rehearsal for everything; and a black wolf who keeps watch in the trees behind the family cottage, until the night his boyfriend finally says the truth out loud and changes shape in front of him.

Werewolf. Next Alpha. His.

Loren's family takes the news the way his family takes everything - at full volume, all of them talking at once on the porch. The pack takes a little longer. But the town has a tradition it keeps every winter: the high school seniors walk out onto the lake ice under the northern lights, alone with the sky, and the whole town lines the shore to watch them come back. On Loren's first lap, the ice does what small-town ice does to newcomers. He slips. Hunter catches him before he touches it, in front of half the county, and nobody ever lets either of them forget it.

Years later, Loren is the town's beloved ballet teacher and the Luna of the strongest pack in the state, with three small sons and a husband who still catches him. Then a stranger starts pacing the north border, an old rival pack arrives asking for help instead of blood, and behind both of them stands Marek - a warlord who starves stolen wolves into an army and means to spend them all breaking the pack in a single night.

The council builds a wall. Loren, who has spent his life learning that the shape wins before the feet do, builds something better: an opening. A line that breathes. A mouth that closes.

His smallest son says the woods are humming. His husband carries a child's drawing over his heart. And on the night the woods finally sing, a dancer's choreography decides a war - because the moon doesn't make mistakes.

Neither does love.
