The Half-Blood Werewolf
by PageCrave Editorial
Blake Ryewood has been three things in his life: an Alpha's son, a missing child, and a number on a ledger in the dark. Now he is coming home. Rescued from the warehouse where he spent half his young life in a cell, he returns to Ryewood, the biggest pack on the continent, with a wolf inside him and something older sharing his skin. Werewolf on one side. Vampire on the other. The first of his kind, and nobody, least of all Blake, knows whether one man can hold both halves and live.
His father has a plan: hand the pack over, and introduce his wounded heir to Hazel, a wolf from a neighbouring pack whose scent Blake caught on a cushion before he ever saw her face. The elders call her part of the treatment plan. Blake calls her a stranger, and strangers are the one thing his scars will not let him near.
Hazel knows exactly what she is walking into. Her mate flinches from a hand on his shoulder, sleeps with a light on and a friend at the door, and has to be talked into simply holding her hand, because touch has only ever meant pain to him. What the case files never recorded is the rest of him, the dry humour, the gentleness he thinks he has to hide, and the stubborn way he shows up every single time, even when showing up costs him. Hazel decides she has time. Time for the hot chocolate he makes at midnight, for the bad jokes, for the slow patient work of proving that a hand can mean safety instead of hurt.
Then the past starts asking for him back. Rogues surface on the border wearing his old captors' signature. A letter arrives signed with a single initial, and its threats name her. Guards report watchers trailing the pack's women through a shopping street, and Blake learns that what was done to him was never random. It was organised, funded, and still very much in business. To lead his pack he will have to face the people who built him. To keep Hazel he will have to trust the mate bond he is only learning to lean on, one hard-won touch at a time: a first held hand that sparks down both their arms, a boundary asked for and honoured, a door closed gently on everything that belongs to them alone.
The Half-Blood Werewolf is a slow-burn werewolf romance about a wounded heir and the mate who refuses to be frightened of him. Expect pack politics and anxious elders, family mending itself in a crowded kitchen, a villain who mistakes gentleness for weakness, and heat that stays exactly where the bedroom door closes, with every intimate scene fading to black. This is a story about choosing, again and again, to become the person your scars insist you cannot be. Blake was carried out of the dark once. Everything after that, he does himself, with Hazel's hand in his.
